What is this blackness
That stabs me with shards of glass
That screeches at me my mistakes
That drags me under the sheets to hide
That makes salty tears roll down my face?
What is this night
That creates feelings of despair
That clutches my throat with its icy hand
And squeezes me like a ripe orange into a cup?
What is this newfound fear
That steals my confidence
That rips my heart to pieces
That gores me
And rips out my insides?
What is this darkness?
Nothing but my own fears.
