Memories and Disparity By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Walking along the path,
our eyes briefly lock.
All in a singular moment,
Past and present converge.
I focus on you,
a dual entity of past and present.
standing before me cloaked in memories.
My mind blurs and feverishly burns,
two sets of emotions obscuring reality.
Your life has purpose and direction,
responsibility clings to you.
We've long departed from the days of leisure,
the times of fairies, games and rafts.
We're both living rich fulfilling lives,
surrounded by new amazing people.
Ignoring whispers of what could have been.
which float by on the rare breeze,
wafting their seductive yet deadly aroma.
We now stand on opposite lines,
no longer what we were, yet not unfriendly.
The moment ends as suddenly as its origin.
I wave as I walk by.
