Seafarers of old didst conquer the sea
Sailing the oceans with stars as their guides
Salt spray splashing o'er the hull's lea
Storms they met on these long mast rides
Every compass point a place of new kind
Expeditions werecommissioned for float
E'er those men of the brine seeking a find
Exploring inlets along a rough coastal stoat
Volumes of literature speak of their deeds
Vouching for the journeys they undertook
Valiantly facing the mariner's torrid creeds
Voyages like that of Captain James Cook
O'er the centuries boats leavinghome bay
On ventures to other continent's terrain
Oh as the sun shone on the port's shay
Outward bound a ship's crew didst twain
