Flying past memories
Running to escape the pain
Lost in a land of never was
Golden lies spun to twist the shame
Blackened night for a soulless sight
Twirling along keeping up with the ride
In this city so alight with lights burning bright
How can one tell true day from night
Questions run rampant like loaded guns
Where did we come from, what path are we on
Is there a deity of mass creation?
One who holds the key to our relations
Or are we just one science experiment gone awry
Left on this planet to fend for ourselves
And learn survival until we all die
When prayers are spoken where they go
Are they empty pleas to forgotten deities
Who never cared for our souls
Or are they truly heard by big brother in the sky
Watching over and listening in
As a collective whole we wither and die
When we die where do we go
Heaven or hell, does anyone know?
How muchstock should we take in the concept of a soul
They never really helpsave us
So are they real, do they make us feel
Or did someone make them up as they would go
Life is an enigma, each point and aspect it entails
Full of questions and consequences
We either make it big or miserably fail
Nothing ever comes easy
What would be the point if it did
It's like a giant stress ball
Super squeezey and can be stretched to its' end
So the next time life puts you on that pedestal on high
Remember as the lowly peons pass by
It can all crash down in the blink of an eye
And lead you back to the questions of how and why
