Evergreen. By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
I loved a girl who belonged to the forest.
She had the wits of a fox and a smile that could knock you off your feet.
She howled at the moon at night then was up early for morning tea and to watch the sun rise.
We spent many days together and those moments will always be with me.
But she always returned to the woods. I supposed I was silly to think she was ever mine to begin with. That's the problem with loving someone belongs to the forest.
You can take the girl out of the evergreen.
But you can never take the evergreen out of the girl.
