Autumn Walk By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
If you live in a city all your life,
Smothered by the shadows of
Trestles and buildings shouting
Their concrete obscenities at the sky,
Even walking in the park on an Autumn afternoon
Can seem somehow like a walk on the moon.
Then you sit with yourback up against a tree
And all the cynicism and complacency
Of your tough guy city pose seems an act
Of violence vilifying all of nature,
A wall which you build between your
Shadow self and what you were meant to be,
As your soul reaches out towards the sky
And you feel your very being become one
With the life force of the autumn trees. ..
The closest thing to God you will ever see.
