Her kohl smudges,
Dissolving in her tears.
Running down her cheek,
Till the fog clears.
The mirror reflects,
Her bitter truth.
She wants no pity,
To intensify her ruth.
Her salty tears,
Burn her scars.
It seems pitch dark,
Despite the shining stars.
She refuses to bow,
She refuses to cry.
Despite a river of tears,
Her face seems dry.
She decides to pen down,
Whatever she thinks.
Absorbs her tears,
In words and ink.
Setting her eyes,
On her bestseller.
She realizes how it feels,
To be a storyteller.
She decides to burn,
Her pile of notes.
She can't live off,
Her pain and woes.
She feels cruel.
Emotionally dry.
She can't get paid,
For making the world cry.
