Poetic-Verses
'' A Gift Without Love ''
She gave me a smile,
It didn't have feeling,
Nor did it beguile,
It was so unappealing.
I take hold of her hand,
Like I've always done,
I don't understand,
Two's no longer one.
I gaze into her eyes,
They're an empty space,
She puts on a disguise,
Of love there's no trace.
I compliment her looks
She puts on pretence,
Like reading books,
It suddenly makes sense.
That love we shared,
Is now one way,
I ask if she cared,
She refuses to say.
No point hanging on,
My heart has been burned,
My passion hasn't gone,
It's just not returned.
I decide to let go,
With some help from above,
Hers I now know,
Were,
' A Gift Without Love '
It didn't have feeling,
Nor did it beguile,
It was so unappealing.
I take hold of her hand,
Like I've always done,
I don't understand,
Two's no longer one.
I gaze into her eyes,
They're an empty space,
She puts on a disguise,
Of love there's no trace.
I compliment her looks
She puts on pretence,
Like reading books,
It suddenly makes sense.
That love we shared,
Is now one way,
I ask if she cared,
She refuses to say.
No point hanging on,
My heart has been burned,
My passion hasn't gone,
It's just not returned.
I decide to let go,
With some help from above,
Hers I now know,
Were,
' A Gift Without Love '
