Thunder fighting lightning
Little girl is terrified
Water fills her lashes
Wishing she could go outside
She wonders why her mother stares at the tv
A million channels blank
Tiny crystals caress her all day long
Who knew her bestfriend would be crank
Passed out on the kitchen table
Empty bottle in his hand
Breaking the record for holding his breath
If only she knew she wouldn't withstand
Where has her family gone
Scared to death of being in the dark
The light outside is tempting
Little girl opens the door and there's a spark
