A Quiet Dream in July By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
July's few clouds are lingering and hot
Tapering at the top
Trudging through the scalding blue
Laying on my favourite hill, thickened with flowers
Allowing summers bugs on my hands and my arms
Watching them intently, darting about on my sizzling skin
Roasted and tanned
Noticing poppies where none had been before
Bluebells, buttercups and so many more
Tufts of them facing the sun
Closing my eyes, and lost in my dreams
Remembering them quietly
The lazy buzzings of an insects wings
are all that I hear -
Sorrow hides in sudden tears
Laying droplets at the feet of flowers
