MY  BEST  FRIEND

I REMEMBER THE LAST TIME THAT I WENT TRICK--OR--TREATING---WITH YOU BRIAN, ON HALOWEEN:
YOU WERE IN SIXTH GRADE, AND I WAS IN NINETH GRADE, AND ALREADY----FIFTEEN:

BUT TRICK-OR-TREATING, WE BOTH WENT HOUSE, TO HOUSE AND THROUGH THE WHOLE TOWN, STREET TO STREET:
AT THE END OF THE NIGHT, WE EXHAUSTEDLY, LIMPED HOME, WITH OUR PILLOW CASES, FULL OF CANDY, THAT WE WOULD STAY UP LATE, UNTIL THE EARLY MORN, TO ARRANGE, TRADE, AND EAT:

WE DID EVERYTHING TOGETHER, FROM SUN UP, TO SUN DOWN:
TOGETHER WE OWNED, WINONA, MINNESOTA, OUR HOME TOWN:

WE ROAMED FROM OUR HOME, AT 422-WEST MARK STREET IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN, TO THE WEST END, TO EAST END, TO THE QUARRY HUNTING FOR MAGNETS, TO FISHING IN THE LAKE, AND CLIMBING IN THE BLUFFS, TO SWIMMING IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER, ON THE WISCONSIN SIDE, WHERE TURTLES WE HAD AS PETS THAT WE FOUND:
EVERY SINGLE DAY, OF EVERY HOUR FOR ALL OUR BOYHOOD LIFE, WE WERE BEST FRIENDS BONDED TOGETHER, EXPERIENCING EVERYTHING TOGETHER IN THE FOUR SEASONS OF MINNESOTA WEATHER, ENJOYING EACH OTHER, ALWAYS INSEPERABLE, TOGETHER, GOING ALL AROUND:

OUR FORT, THAT WE BUILT TOGETHER, WAS OUR DEEPEST PRIDE AND JOY:
THAT WAS MY GREATEST MOMENT AS A BOY:

EACH AND EVERY PET THAT WE SHARED:
WE LOVED THEM EACH AND EVERYONE,BUD-THE CAT, PATCHES HIS MOTHER, SAM OUR PARAKEET, BIGGIE, OUR HAMSTER, ARNOLD AND DINOSOUR OUR GUINIA PIGS, CHESTER OUR FIRST WOUNDED PIGEON, THAT WE RESCUED FROM UNDER THE WINONA BRIDGE, AND THE FANYARD PIGIONS, THEN MANY MANY MORE PIGEONS, HAD A POPULATION EXPLOSION, WE COULDNT NAME THEM ALL--MOM AND DAD SAID WE HAD TOO MANY AND HAD TO LET THEM GO--WE OPENED THERE CAGE, THEY ALL TOOK OFF, HAD THERE FREEDOM, BUT AT NIGHT ALWAYS CAME BACK HOME TO THERE HOME SWEET HOME THERE CAGE--THEN WE HAD OUR RABBITS--STARTED OUT WITH A FEMALE AND MALE, WE CALLED THEM MA AND PA--AND HAD MANY--MANY--MORE RABBITS--THEN HERB DUDE OUR DUCK--HAD GERBILES, EVEN MICE, HAD A FEW MILLION GUPPIES, AND ASSORTED FISHES, WE WOULD CATCH SUNNIES AT THE LAJE, MAKE A POND AND TRY TO KEEP THEM, AKLIVE, HAD A CHICKEN OT TWO, CAUGHT A CHIPMUNCK, AND TRIED TO KEEP HIM AS A PET,HAD TURTLES, AND I GUESS THATS ABOUT IT---SEE MOM AND DAD SAID WE COULDNT HAVE A DOG, CAUSE IN TOWN THEY HAD TO BE CHAINED UP--SO WE HAD EVERY OTHER ANIMAL  THAT WE COULD GET, WE LOVED THEM EACH AND EVERYONE, AND GAVE THEM OUR BEST LOVE AND CARE:

WE WOULD ALWAYS BE OUTSIDE TO PLAY:
WE WERE BEST--BEST--BEST--FRIENDS IN EACH AND EVERY WAY:

then suddenly in the winter of my nineth grade:
the varsity swim team i qualified and proudly made:

then in the spring of my nineth grade, i ran the two mile race uin track:
and i dreamed of being a champion, thats all i thought about and dreamed, and my boyhood was over and i never got it back:

we didnt hang out so much anymore:
i was so exhausted, from sports, so tierd and sore:

then the summer, after my nineth grade and going into tenth grade:
my strength---stamina---and endurance--was made:

that summer after my nineth grade, i didnt have time, to hang out, with my best friend, my brother brian, you were going into seventh grade, and i was going into tenth grade in the fall:
our whole boyhood life, while growing up, we were best--best--friends, 24/7--doing everything, night and day, together---now we didnt hang out together, not at all:

that summer after nineth grade, from 0700--to--0900--i was at school, running three miles around the lake every early morn, then playing soccer, then home to rest, then  bacuk to school for the first swim practice from 1030--to 1300--then home waiting for the hardest practice from 18----to 2000--then back home to eat and rest:
i could only think of being a champion, and wanted to be the very--very--best:

that summer, for the first time in your life, you were solo, all on your own, and alone:
you lost your big brother, who all of your life, you had by your side, always known:

in tenth grade, in the fall i joined cross country, and ran in the morni8ng early before school, trying to be a champion, the very be4t:
i worked out harder than all of the rest, but competing in the race, i finished far away from first place, and alot less:

our distance with one another became much greater, as we lost all communication and trust:
our relationship as best friends, was broken, it bust:

the friends that you fell into, influenced you in the wrong way bad:
i know now brian, that you did your best, alone and solo, all on your own, you lost your big brother, and they were3 all the friends that you could depend on, all that you had:

as a kid, in the seventh grade, you had to go your own way:
to become the great man,and at long last , my best life long friend today:

i am sorery--BRI--that for all our boyhood life, we were best--best--best--friends always--always inseperable together:
then in the winter of my nineth grade, in a flash i wasnt there, like a sudden change of minnesota weather:

in tenth grade i was on the swim team, again in winter sports, trying my best, with an early morning workout, and again after school, i swam and swam, more than all the rest:
but in every race, i was so dissappointed, that i never did win, and was far from the best:

in tenth grade spring, i ran the two mile,in track:
i am really so sorry brian, our friendship was lost, as i went from one sport to another ---cross country--to swimming--to track--to AAU--swimming in the summer, my 9th--10th--11th--and 12th grades--bacuk to back to back:

i am sorry brian, that i was not there to guide you, and i know you had no choice but to go solo--all on your own:
i was too busy trying to become a champion, leaving you all alone:

I CAN ONLY PROMISE YOU THIS --MY BROTHER BRIAN, IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER, AGAIN:
I WOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT YOU ALONE, TO GO ON YOUR OWN, SOLO, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU EVER, EVER AGAIN, FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, HERE ON EARTH, AND EVERYDAY, I HAVE REMAINING LEFT, I PROMISE, WITH ALL OF MY HEART, THIS-----BRIAN JUST AS WE BEGAN, AS NOW, AGAIN TOGETHER AT LONG LAST-----:

YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY BEST--BEST--FRIEND:

I LOVE YOU BRI:
