When love goes out the window
When love goes out the window,
There's a tendency to sing,
It's not because of happiness,
More a defensive kind of thing.
It's a kind of independence,
That fills a troubled gap,
There'll also be some whistling,
And humming you can bet.
The air is terse and even worse,
He's on a talking ban,
While she gets to do the ironing,
An' feel the best she can.
When love goes out the window,
There's a contest in the air,
Silence and some laughing,
Say's, 'I'm happy, I don't care.'
But underneath they're really not,
There's a sadness to all this,
Get off your butt you silly man,
An' give the girl a kiss.
