Welcome to My Poetry Site

Long thought lost,
No one knew,
What became of them.

A set of trains, with all the tracks,
A Christmas gift from youth.

I was cleaning out the crawl space,
In the attic to the right,
When I came upon a tattered box,
Falling all apart.

I peeked inside and realized,
The treasure, there they were.

I took the old box down the stairs,
and placed it in a bigger box,
One inside the other.

I waited for the holidays,
My oldest brother visits.
And at a party,
With all his friends,
I said I had a present.

He opened up the bigger box,
And dared to look inside.
He smiled yes..
A some what melencoly smile.

His friends all asked,
What's inside,
To which he simply said,
A Christmas gift from long ago,
my very first train set.
