Far below the hazy light
Of the Oleander Sunset
That hovers over the water
And sparkles on the smooth, jade leaves,
Something glints
Like a sunden star.
Far beneath the earth,
Buried deep in tides and lost twilights,
It gleams.
Deep in the water,
The marigold sunlight fades
And turns bruised purple
Then tatto-ink black.
Beneath the current,
The world is still,
But from below,
An ancient eye blinks,
Meteor-shower gold in the darkness.
