THE GENERAL ON HOLIDAY

THE GENERAL ON HOLIDAY

After a feast on lettuce and cucumber
As they`re my favourite foods remember,
It was time to relax and catch some sun
Then perhaps I would go and have some fun.

I found a good place on which to rest my chin
Which amused the people it made them grin,
Couldn`t see what was funny me resting my head
For unlike them I can`t lie on a sunbed.

After a well-earned sleep in the heat of the day
I thought it was now time to go and play,
I wandered on down to the thick pine trees
I could have some adventures in amongst these.

So off across the field I was head bound
I thought I`d reach there before I was found,
But no! I was spotted before I got there
They won`t let me roam free it`s just not fair.

It took me a long time to cross that field
Stopping to eat weeds which to me appealed,
But I will live to fight another day
I`ll fool them I`ll go the other way.
