The road I walked made steep the climb
So far to go to call Him mine
Yet walked then some through towns of old
Each step taken as did His fold
They were the twelve that followed him
Disciples His, He freed from sin
Their work yet done bared much His cause
To love another, my mind to pause
Will I reach Him before time came?
To hear His words, redeemed and changed
To see what blind man came to see
To be servant, hear His last plea
Another trek along the way
To righteousness, to rest I craved
Hunger unknown by pallet knocked
Upon my heart that sought The Rock
I saw women weeping in grief
Men once children, two common thief's
Sentenced to death as whispers came
To ears of mine filled with much shame
Closer I drew as feet mine walked
Upon the hill of skulls, my soul did balk
Why are you here who knew not Him?
Why now? Too late you filled with sin
But still closer I came to draw
Upon my eyes, on knees I'd fall
Before this man that came for me
To save mankind, in Him believe
I wept thousands of tears that day
Too late I thought but heart would say
Give thanks to Him and wish the world
Thanksgiving, praise, loved much His Pearl
And so my tears beneath His feet
Washed with blood spilled away defeat
To give once more Redemption's Hill
A walk of faith as was His will
