Some things I take too personal...
It's part of my personality.
When someone hurts someone I love
Something seems to break in me.
Now I'm not saying that it's right...
Nor do I want to make excuses...
For the words that want to hurt right back
Or the anger some produces.
Yes, I've often turned the other cheek...
Just to have that one slapped, too!
And I've read the seventy times seven times
You've commanded us to do.
But I don't harbor un-forgiveness...
I know my heart can show You that.
But, Lord, I'm simply tired of being
Walked all over like a matt!
I just know You don't expect a child
Of Yours to be mistreated...
To overlook each hurtful wrong
Only to have them all repeated!
Yes, I've sought reconciliation
I've extended the request
It was ignored and me and mine
Were thrown out of the family nest.
I don't know why some must choose sides
But there's been so much confusion...
He said...she said... and the truth's been twisted
Into anyone's conclusion.
But You know the Truth...You ARE the Truth
And I just extend one plea...
When I stand before Your Judgment Seat
Let The Truth speak out for me!
