Memories and Visions

Unknown Woman

Sweet daughter of the changeful moon
as quick to anger as swoon
perfect skin, dark eyes agleam
dancing to her favorite tune

Her hair's aglow with healthy shine
long legs rise to a secret shrine
her form inflames the mind of man
yet harbors an innocence divine!

She dreams of children yet unborn
a ring of promise to adorn
with sacred bond her heart to man
once vows of love are sworn

but knows that men can be untrue
that princes are but rare and few
so tearfully awaits her dream
and every other she doth eschew

The idea came from a poem I read on another poets site "The Portrait of an Unknown Man" by AllTreasures
http://poetrypoem.com/alltreaures

Her poem is much better - go read it.  I just dashed this off during my poem-a-day for British National Poetry Month 2015.
