Where is My Son

Where is My Son

He left heaven to come down to earth
Walked away from paradise to the land of curse
Something there captured His heart, he could not turn away
So he allowed Himself to become flesh one day
He saw His brothers suffering, he desired them free
The plan was to reconcile them to me
So with no fanfare, hype or fame
He came through a simple woman with a simple name
Born in a stable, no room at the inns
Among the hay and fodder His journey begins
He grew in grace and knowledge of the Holy script
And collected all the help that he could get
All while being tested as those He came to save
But his final walk to death would be His only parade
It was all about the mission to save all mankind
His death and resurrection was proof He was divine
The brutality he suffered upon that rugged cross
The humility and shame so that no one need be lost
The grace and the love that it took to endure
Those that believe will be saved for sure
So where is He now, where is the evidence He Came?
Where are those who walk and talk in His Name?
There are buildings for of people meeting every week-end
But in some of these places My Son could not enter in
Searching through the streets, He could not be found
Although there are poor disfranchised people all around
They are under the bridges trying to stay warm
They are in hospital rooms and college dorms
Even behind prison walls, where my son spent time
He would rarely be found where everything was fine
The healthy don't need a doctor I once heard Him say
He came to save the sick, but where is He today
What have you done with Him, His suffering and shame
Do you bear the cross attached to the name
It there a presence with the picture that hangs in your home
Does He carry the cross on your neck alone
Does the hats or T-shirts, or religious tattoo
Reflect the light that shines in you
