Mom and the Holiday Season

My mind races back to the Christmastime we had years ago.
It was with my parents saving all year for our presents to be given that year.
It was  special to know whatever we wanted we were able to receive.
I wanted so much it seemed but there were no exceptions to my desires.
Mom wrote it all down and made the order to Sears for the things we got.
It was a happy time of year for my brother got a  bicycle and a got a stereo.
The records I asked for I received and the whole nine yards was freely given.
Mom was a great part of this for many reasons.
She received the thanks of course for what she did but no present under the tree.
It wasn't until later I was able to give something to Mom.
It didn't matter for she was happy to see us happy.
Cooking the meal for the holiday was a great time as it was so delectable.
Mom and Dad made everything right for us so many Christmases.
But this one was the one that stands out.
Praise the Lord for loving parents first and then the gifts they gave.,
