Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

As I smile through my tears

No more a broken heart to cry for
I have said goodbye to a love of my own
Though my only dream was to love someone forever
All my dreams were shattered so long ago…
It now seems a lifetime since I felt the warmth of a lover
A touch of a hand or a warming embrace
I remember so clearly the beauty I once kissed
Something I will treasure to the end of my days.

Life has cruelly taught that love is an illusion
Built upon the dreams that flatter our heart
After the heat and the passion of the moment surrenders
There's no one but your lover to tear your life apart…
We get caught in the moment and our minds become tainted
And the innocence we once knew is consumed by our fear
But some memories are sweet and still make me smile
Some lovers well remembered as I smile through my tears.
