The White Poinsettia Has a Story to TellIf you will intently look at a white poinsettia you will see of course the white petals. With the green leaves underneath them you will notice a strong stem. Inside the white petals are the little sprigs known as the crown. This presents a story of Jesus that only it can tell. The white petals signify Jesus' appearance. The green leaves represents the grace that is applied to the sin we commit. The strong stem is for the strength that belongs to God throughout everything. The red crown; in the center, denotes the crown of thorns Jesus would someday wear upon His head. This is part of the Gospel story of what Jesus did and giving His life for many. May we never look at a white poinsettia the same again without thinking of Jesus. The only thing different from the Gospel story is when Jesus arose. This is not seen within the white poinsettia for me to tell you but may be there after all. (© Poeticbearlovestowrite 2015) Vote for this poem |
