Work and Rest Not On Your LaurelsToday it is customary for us to work and earn a living. Should we not as well do some work for the Lord? Work and rest not on your laurels. For resting is for the ones who have done something to recoup. If you do nothing but sit on your laurels all day you are not working and this is wrong. If you are in a position you aren't able to work then you are exempt. However, the ones who are even; in a wheelchair, can work and provide the means to make things better. I am one such person who is confined to a wheelchair at present but hope to walk again Lord willing next year. I am putting forth the effort to learn how to walk and not resting on my laurels. So, don't you be guilty of this for yourself. Give God all the praise and do the work He has called you to do. (© Poeticbearlovestowrite 2015) Vote for this poem |
