Favor comes by God's anointing
Which is triggered by our faith.
Our Father operates in seasons
And His timing's always great.
God anoints whom He's appointed
To do a work He has ordained.
These need not be educated,
Highly learned or even trained.
Because Jesus used mere fishermen...
Tax collectors and the like...
Self-righteous Scribes and Pharisees
Looked for different ways to strike.
Trick questions used to trip Him up
Would backfire every time...
Because Jesus was the Son of God
His answers were always divine.
Divine favor always rested
On the perfect Prince of Peace.
His mission was to save the world
And His work will never cease.
For He's anointed you and I
To continue in His Name...
For His is the one and only means
By which salvation came.
Divine favor does not result
In the slightest hint of chance.
The child of God's not lucky...
Our lives don't run on happenstance...
Because our footsteps have been ordered...
Favor opens new frontiers.
Divinely leading all God's children
Into each Grace-lined brand New Year.
