Giving Up
Watching for the countless signs,
To add, divide and maybe even multiply,
To walk away...clean hands and a heart that never lied.
Fully aware of all the consequences that have taken shape,
They mounted up like the African silver back ape.
Strong in feeling and impressive in presentation,
My decision to give up without hesitation.
To know I tried my best,
To love and give you more than rest.
At times unappreciated and put to the test,
Forgotten, set to the side but I never felt any less.
Complete peace and no burden to endure,
I gave what I had but you couldn't accept a blessing that was so pure.
No more pretending and sitting back to observe,
Maybe you are getting what you deserve.
Too many negative occurrences of ego and pride,
Sorry I won't be participating and I am officially getting off this ride.
I wish you the best,
In love and everything you want to possess.
There are hard lessons you still must learn,
To get to the level you want it has to be earned.
The love I have for you will always be,
Wished you could of loved me with the same intensity.
Giving up is not a eternal good bye,
I just got tired of the eagle sitting on a leaf-less tree not wanting to fly.
