Pet Peeves

It's often obnoxious the webs a man weaves
And many as such have become my pet peeves
But the ones that so clearly stand out in my mind
Seem subtle while others are easily defined.

People with little respect for our flag
The overly proud who must walk with a swag
Abusers of children so vulnerable to harm
They who see evil but sound no alarm.

A man who refuses to acknowledge his flaws
Motorists unwilling to heed traffic laws
Know-it-all people who oft condescend
Those without honor or belief to defend.

Hit-and-run drivers who flee from the scene
Bullies so ready to treat others mean
Individuals too cheap to leave waiters good tips
Busybodies who can't seem to button their lips.

Those who don't stop to let funerals pass by
Insensitive people who make others cry
The mentally slothful who don't care to think
Foul-mouthed vulgarians with manners that stink.

Yes, my pet peeves are many, the devil may care
A blight on humanity and wholly unfair
But if we would stop and then think what we do
Life might become sweeter for me and for you.
