Mom Was A Staunch Supporter of All That Was Good

Mom was a lady of great values that was carried with her for all time.
You couldn't ever outwit Mom for she was right on top of things.
I remember the time when she punished me for an offense I hadn't of done.
Taking a switch to me from me picking out the switch I got it from the poison ivy that was close to us.
Having given Mom and myself the poison ivy was a hard thing to get over.
Mom had to teach me a lesson and a switch was the protocol.
I didn't fault Mom for what she had done of course.
And I love Mom today though she is no longer upon the earth.
Mom was a staunch supporter of all that was good for she maintained it for a lot of years and never let it go;
I say today--Blessed are you, Mom for all you have done to train me well.
I am indebted to you for all the lessons we gave and the love you never spared
