Every once in a while I get past
the climbing to 10,000
at fifty an hour
Read others works
Davids thank you poem one of those
I was hoping you might read this
I try in the limited time I have
to have a message sent before
blown off the last one hundred
I would comment on the latest
Thank you poems are not given often enough
At Subway there were four in line
Four who arrived after me grumpy
The kid was alone
He was working as hard as he could
I let the guy behind me go first
He was in a hurry grumbling
Not a thank you
I told the kid I come here
because you do a good job
Thank you
He said not a word we hear at Subway
I asked him after his sandwiched were made
If he would run a five and see if it was real
He said sure no problem confirmed I said it is yours
I don't give addicts and drunks standing with sign money
I pick and choose
I read with interest your thank you poem
David Knape is a great poet on this site
