Walk With Me In The Footsteps Of Our Past

Walk With Me In The Footsteps  Of Our Past             February 12. 2016

Walk with me in footsteps in the streets of our past
The streets of our land, it all changed so fast

We can walk our road together for every Irish life

We will cry, we will smile along every Irish mile

We'll walk the little streets of Derry

With Patsy and Mickey who was the last to die

The men of ten will join us as again beneath an Irish sky

Bobby and Joe will be there, the people still ask why

Every child of Ireland will walk beside us in our journey freedoms way

The young and old in our country will finally have their say

With Danny, Mairead  and Sean their crime was being be free

Killed on the rock, God Bless the Gibraltar three

Connolly will walk with us to the chair of death at the end

Dark days in Dublin all the way to the town of Cork

Tom Williams will join us on the scaffold he played his part

He'll proudly stand beside us, he broke every Irish heart

Belfast town will greet us with resistance in their heart

The undefeated army still play the patriots part

The heroes of fifty seven will join us as we walk

A martyr for old Ireland Sean South of Garryowen

Eddie Fullerton will walk beside us from lovely Donegal

His crime was freedom, freedom for one and all

Killed for democracy his wish was Ireland free

The footsteps that you walk join us for Irelands song

They died together at different times, it's called "The Soldiers Song"

Walk in my footsteps in the streets of our past
The streets of our land, it all changed so fast
