Albatross
It was needful that I should forgive
The ones who did me wrong
To rid myself the albatross
That's burdened me so long.
For a man cannot hold grudges
And be right with the Lord
Since Holy Scriptures teach that we
Should live in one accord.
Some say it is impossible
More easily said than done
To lay aside their paltry deeds
And excuse them, every one.
Yes, the weight had gotten heavy
Too much for me to bear
But God removed the albatross
That I no longer wear.
