lost and then found

Do What Men Do

I set here and reflect
My head hurts
But not as years before
Is there really some one out there
Can i write the poems of wisdom
Can love chase the demons away
Does the heart flutter in your kiss
Our are we just here to fake the bliss
My wonders were of beauty
But my mind was in a different place
Some search for gold because they found love
And i look for love and found gold
My friends they know me as Donkey Kong
Only my childhood friends would ever care about these words
We struggled through life as children to find some answers
But our dads as they say had figured them out before we were born
So it puts you in a place where you think your a rock star
And then you realize the world can swallow you whole
The fingers write
But contradictions they take flight
No one labels any good
And your heart is broke from the silence
I would trade your circumstance
To walk a river and see you by my side
Instead i regret my compassion
But the honor of a man takes care of what he does
If you fear
if you cry if you sing if you die if you bleed and walk away
The waters red and that's a pain
The glory reads on the walls in the dessert
It talks of history
we are the future
so as the future we should do what men do
