YARD WORK

Thank you whomever---
Whomever cleaned up
All the weeds by the garage
Behind this house
Thank you whomever---
Whomever cleaned up
All the leaves by the heart
Of lights I made
Out on Vesper Street
You both have made my life easier
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Two days ago
I did some yard work
And wood moving
Then I was in bed
Most of that night
The next day
And last night
That's what happens
When I put out my weak 100%
It happens
I deal with it.

Today I need to go to the dump
It rained this morning
I sit here before having made coffee
Wondering if I want to get all muddy
Doing that when it's still chilly
Only have Saturday mornings
From Eight to Twelve
To get there
If I do
I do
If I don't
There's always next week.

Don't push myself that hard
Here on my abuser's Birthday
He is turning 65
Can't believe he's still alive
At least I didn't have bad dreams
About him last night
Jerking awake to a steel pipe
Hitting me in the head
At his hands.

It's why I thank any man
Who helps me
It's why I fall in love
With any man
Who helps me as
Men have not helped me that much
In this life lately or pretty much ever
Except for my brother, Rick
Ricky, my nephew
Shane, my nephew in law
The guys that used to work
The Timmermann farm
And my adopted son, Jay
Who works the Rhode farm
Over by Echo.

So I thank all of you
And those I've missed a thanks to
I appreciate your help
More than you will ever know
When I love you it doesn't mean
I love you in a romantic way
It just means I love you for being
A good person who knows
I'm not the "man" I used to be
I'm a gram-gram now
Just holding on to the years
I have left on this Earth
Thank you, again
Thank you.
