The Climb to CalvaryJesus, divine spirit would falter not, A cross laden with many battles fought, Upon his tender shoulder the cross to bear, That cross now the symbol of our prayer, Bloodied, abused, but courage within, He carried a cross, he carried our sin, Struggling each step up an uneven road, On the path to heaven, we were his load, Goaded by soldiers, his focus unbroken, A message for Satan, a message unspoken, This is not the end, but the dawn of grace, Our saviour a light in this wretched place, That journey to Calvary, he did it for me, So I can be saved, so I can be set free, God gave his son so every man can achieve Eternal life in heaven for those who believe Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
