Shima Nesari Haghighi Fard

“Why did you take my life?”

Why did you shoot me at my school?
A bullet in my chest that stopped my heart
And froze my frightened breath
Took my body apart

Why did you take my life?
My heart was meant to beat more
And my eyes were opened to this world
Now my future has faced a closed door

Why did you erase my hopes?
A Pakistani boy that was born to be a man
Passing his days under the sky
And for his future picturing a plan

Why did you stop my seconds?
A painful moment that vanished my time
And cooled down my warm blood
With your violent crime

If only my land were made of peace
And no al-Qaida were born
I would be studding in an ordinary school
And having a future of my own
