There is a battle being waged
one no one else can see
It is a war of spirit that
is waged inside of me
It causes me to falter when
temptation rears its head
and in the throes of pleasure
there is anxiousness instead
I realize beside me now
a guardian angel dear
is sent to guide and help me
so I have no need of fear
But then my heart betrays me
invites me toward the brink
I move toward the precipice
without much time to think
There's so much out there waiting
so much from which to choose
It's harmless fun, it hurts no one
so what have I to lose
Again I feel beside me here
a presence heaven sent
It says to look inside my heart
see where my gifts are spent
And so I choose to live my life
remembering what is right
turning away from darkness now
faith brings me back to light
