Career Lawmakers

The career lawmakers in Washington
Are to blame, I've little doubt
And I believe that some of them
Have plans to sell us out.

They expelled God from our public schools
While seeking to end free speech
And tried to tell the parson what
He can and cannot preach.

They want to take our guns away
And marriage redefine
Then say we need more government
To keep us all in line.

They leave our borders open
While strangers pour right in
Yet cannot say with certainty
Which ones be foe or friend.

They suggest the wealthy should pay more
As a penalty for success
But it is they and not the rich
Who caused our fiscal mess.

Yes, for our country's sad estate
I believe they are to blame
And until we get fresh leadership
We will have more of the same.
