BEATING ON THE STRINGS

Having a classical guitar
Wondering if I'm hurting
The poor thing
Pounding on strums
That KEITH URBAN is
Trying to teach me
Understanding playing a guitar
Means practice and more practice
Until my fingertips are rich
With callous
And my right hand hits
The correct strings that
Are not buzzing
Freaking me out
Because imperfection usually
Gets me to talking to myself
Trying to get it better
Beat on the strings awhile
Then go back to finger picking
Have to learn to use a guitar pick
Get that boom-chicka down
It's not strumming with my thumb
Makes me feel kinda dumb
Banging loud
Classical guitar is not too proud
To play rock
If that's what it's got
Behind the fingers
Practice lingers
CANDY4KEITH
Although way beneath
That star
He takes me as I are!
