Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Before my eyes

This day has brought you to my home
A refuge sought your thoughts alone
Have caught the eye of servant mine
To write again for you this time

My words now fall upon this page
With love, my strength is to engage
The war inside your fragile heart
The need to mend what's torn apart

Draw close to me who loves you more
Than any man your heart adores
As I made you to bare this storm
That steals all hope on your soul worn

Just ask of me to come and change
All that you feel, you now estranged
From him you love and hurt that birthed
These things that steal all that you're worth

Breathe deep and tell me of your dreams
All those wished for though troubles scheme
To keep what took the smile I drew
Upon your face before birth knew

Draw near and see what is for now
Heartbreak that claims today I vow
To change to loved as I too see
Daughter, beloved, in me believe
