The Unfairness Of Angels

alien invasion
They told me it would be great
But this I never doubted
A mixture of love and hate
And whispers that were shouted
I saw the great rivers and oceans
The forests and open plains
And the feasible delusions
And the evidence up in flames
I read of these prophets
And the books that dictated
I saw the believers in profit
And that which was not translated
I saw those follow orders
By those who did not take them
I saw those try to cross borders
Children, women and men
I did not come to see you fall
Or too see a world die
I will not judge or point to the fool
But I'll say a quiet goodbye.
But this I never doubted
A mixture of love and hate
And whispers that were shouted
I saw the great rivers and oceans
The forests and open plains
And the feasible delusions
And the evidence up in flames
I read of these prophets
And the books that dictated
I saw the believers in profit
And that which was not translated
I saw those follow orders
By those who did not take them
I saw those try to cross borders
Children, women and men
I did not come to see you fall
Or too see a world die
I will not judge or point to the fool
But I'll say a quiet goodbye.
