The Last Single
To my lovely grandchild Jessica who is 9 years old today 12/4/16 Happy birthday darling love always Grammy and Star xxx
Good morning little lady
My birthday girl who`s nine
Still my lovely baby
Until the end of time
This... the last.. a single one
For next year you`ll be ten
Hope that you`ll have lots of fun
Nine won`t come again
Next will be the lipstick pout
And you`ll walk with a wiggle
Dancing... singing... going out
Now did I hear you giggle?
Before you know you`ll be a teen
With life all shining bright
Don`t hurry... hush... time soon has been
Live with all your might
Don`t forget the fairy
Who still lives in the dell
Dancing light and airy
For the truth to tell
She`ll be part of all you are
And all you`ll ever be
My bright and happy little star
Now listen well to me
Save this precious birthday
Yes... every little minute
Deep within your heart today
So you can still look in it
And see what fun you had when young
How everything would shine
Live your life out in the sun
And don`t forget you`re mine
Grammy loves you bonnie lass
And Grammy always will
For my lassie you are class
Let`s both roll down a hill
Let`s skip along where fairies dwell
And little elves do stay
A lovely story they will tell
To you on this your day
