Mistakes

A mistake that's  not intended
Remains a hole that is unmended
Knocking at the human brain
Rectification seems in vain

In gallant effort and yet to fail
Adrift to find this vessel sail
Without strong wind to set afloat
Just another sunken boat

Thought process may not be as keen
As we age as it once has been
And to label any as addle brain
Seems to be quite inane

Though onward go as humans must
To turn mistakes into dust
Yet it beats about the heart and soul
Until the human isn't whole

And  though as mortal beings choose
Some will win and some will lose
As credibility will compromise
And watch as passion slowly dies

One can't unsee what has been seen
And can't reverse where one  has  been
One can't take back the words once said
As  surly one can't  raise  the dead

Mistakes to some may well be cause
For letting go yet here we pause
Mistakes don't mar the intellect
They merely prove we are not perfect
