Why have You abandoned me Lord?
Why do You seem so far away?
I feel as if You have ignored,
Ever since I had gone astray.
So far away from my groaning,
So far from me to render aid;
Can You hear the sound of moaning?
Because I am very afraid.
I cry out through every day,
But no answer comes from Your sound;
As well as during night I pray,
But nothing has been ever heard.
You are holy, enthroned by praise,
Our ancestors trusted You;
They will be rescued from their graves,
Salvation for those who are true.
They trusted and You rescued them,
They cried to You and were saved;
Because You never did condemn,
Since they no longer were enslaved.
I am a worm rather than a man,
As scorned by others and despised;
And you can never see His plan,
When you think that it is disguised.
All who see me make fun of me,
Throwing insults and ridicule;
Making them just too blind to see,
Thinking of me as a big fool.
I put myself into Your hands,
And asking You to please save me;
Rue not following Your commands,
I request that You hear my plea.
You were near to me in the womb,
Fed by my mother through her breast;
You will be with me in the tomb,
When I will be lain down to rest.
But I know You never forsake,
Even though nothing has been heard;
I know no matter it might take,
Your answer will be in Your Word.
