I walk with the angels beneath my sky

The people that came said I must die

Eighteen years from birth to death

Killed for freedom, goodbye mother earth

I want to live but have to go

The hangman's noose is never slow

 Unfinished business left to do

Freedom for my country, me and you

My dreams as a boy to free my land

My dreams as a boy for Ireland

Our heroes and our land taken before

Our people have suffered and ready for more

I heard the stories of the famine blight

They took our land, they came with their might

Death and destruction, burning our town

How could this happen, we'll never lie down

At my early years, I joined the fight

Remember my heroes, the fabrication of blight

They tortured my body, I denied them my cry

I joined the cause, that's why I die

I walk with the angels beneath my sky

The people that came said I must die
