I'm The Father of Poetry.
Yes, I'm the one that started it ALL.
In the beginning, I began to rise.
I will be here in the end and will never FALL.
My earliest followers told rhythmic stories.
Later, they ventured into caves
to honor me by writing on the WALL.
Today, my creative spirit will gravitate
toward any and every poet who is willing to answer the CALL.
Yes, I'm The Father of Poetry.
From out of my omnipotent MIND
came the very first poem with RHYME.
I was here at the beginning of TIME.
In the beginning was the word. That rhyming word was MINE.
With the elements of fire, air, water and SAND,
I extend my gift of poetry to the sons and daughters of woman and MAN.
For all those who may not UNDERSTAND,
I'm the son of the One whose name is I AM.
Poetry is the international fuel which allows planet earth to REVOLVE.
If this is your first day as a poet,
relax and allow your creativity to naturally EVOLVE.
Stay poetically prepared because sooner or later,
you will be called upon whenever a social problem needs to be SOLVED.
Economic depression and religious wars
is food for the greedy monster known as FEAR.
I call upon my followers to slow down
the rapid moving downfall of grieving TEARS.
When all the wars are done and the smoke finally CLEARS,
The Father of Poetry will be right HERE,
continuing to produce poetic pleasure for mankind's eyes and EARS.
