I once believed that it was easy
For one to take the road to Hell.
But according to one preacher man
It's harder than one can foretell.
There are mountains set before us...
God demands we climb each one.
Because if anyone winds up in Hell
He'll have all these to overcome!
There is the Church the Lord established...
We see the Steeple and the Cross.
It's a hospital for the hurting...
A guide for everyone who's lost!
One mountain is the Holy Bible...
The Truth is printed in God's Word!
It points the way to Heaven...
To reject it would be so absurd!
There is the mountain filled with sermons
From Billy Sunday to Billy Graham...
More than a million invitations
Are taken to "Just As I Am."
And what of all the Gospel Music?
How Great Thou Art...Amazing Grace?
A witness in such streams of song
Inspired by One we all must face!
A mountain of sorrows and of shadows
That only God could see us through.
Can we deny our God's existence?
Deny His love and mercy, too?
A mountain of our parents' prayers!
A mother down upon her knees!
Yes, we would have to climb that mountain
Going over all her tears and pleas!
O, the mountain of The Holy Spirit...
Our guide, our Comforter, our friend...
Who takes us to the Words of Jesus
Who causes us to comprehend.
But this last mountain is the hardest!
It's the Mount of Calvary!
It means wading through each drop of Blood
Our Savior shed for you and me!!
So if anyone winds up in Hell
It won't be easy to get there!
It means climbing all these mountains!
Whom of us could even dare?

~~Dedicated to Bishop Drew~~
~~AUTHOR'S NOTE~~
Sunday morning's sermon held me riveted! I'd never
heard anything like it preached before. I'd heard and
read in the Bible that the road to Hell was wide and
many would be traveling down that road...with easy
access to Hell. And this is true....but this sermon has
brought a different prospective into view...and it's
also true! Just as we have to go over all those mountains
of life to go to Heaven....we have to do the same to go
to Hell!
There was a lot more to the sermon than
I'm able to express poetically...but I hope I've done
it some justice. Bishop Drew is an awesome preacher!
