Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 In The Midst of Grief
The sky has lost it hue of blue
Cold has become what now is viewed
Of life as death became this day
The need to see what should have stayed

Life, their lives now changed forever
As loss becomes the word that severed
Sweet memories of hand once held
Now just seems a kiss to tell

Yet in the midst of broken things
The heart shall heal again to sing
The name of those that left too soon
From deep within these scars still wounds

They shall be missed, yet more remembered
As minds keep close as are Septembers
Of all who left on that dark day
Survived by those still here that stayed

The roads ahead will hurt some more
As healing does as pain does score
A soul to rise from ashes born
Of loved ones lost in passing storms

And in the midst of all these things
Keep hold, breathe deep of them something
As they shall always be right here
Upon your heart to chase such fears

In The Midst of Grief

For all who suffered loss at the Pulse, Orlando Florida
