This piece is dedicated to the sister and family of a very special person in my life...three beautiful young children were lost through tragic events many years ago and the echoes of their laughter are still heard in the hearts of those who loved them while they walked this earth.
My love and compassion is in this writing for all who feel their loss...
Your heart shattered into shards
of broken dreams and hopes
for the lives they might
have lived
Suddenly the world you knew
grew dark and ominous
with scarcely any air
to breathe
Hands reaching out pleading
for it not to be reality
disbelief now your
closest friend
Years gone by, barely yesterday
it seems in the scheme of
eternity and love for
your children
How can one senseless moment
bring about an unchangeable
reckoning that ripples out
to so many
But LOVE is an everlasting force
that continues to live within
despite reopening wounds
that will never heal
To remember though is to glorify
the memory of God's gift to you
if only for the short while
