Sin in the Camp

Sin in the Camp

Since God is still God and His promises are true
And He still has the power to see anything through
If he worked a miracle just a short time before
Wouldn't it seem He could do it once more
Take a look at Joshua, in chapter seven
See Joshua on his face before the God of heaven
Crying out to the Lord and asking why
They break the walls of Jericho then get broken by Ai
It wasn't that the Lords power couldn't last
But rather Israel had committed a trespasses
The exact thing God commanded not to
One foolish man decided that's what he'd do
Get up, said the Lord why lie on you face
Search and find a great sin has taken place
Read if you will the story of Achan
And how many suffered loss by the sin of one man
Hidden beneath his tent was an accursed thing
Causing his family and Israel to feel deaths sting
As it was with Adam who brought death to us all
Hidden sin can cause the whole camp to fall
Have you found you've lost power in your prayers
Have you began to question if God is still there
Whether home or business or even a church
Examine yourselves through a spiritual search
First Corinthians chapter 11 verse 28 tells us
We should examine our hearts so it doesn't fail us
Paul is speaking of the Lords supper but it applies to all
We became a new creation when we heard the gospel call
By the power of the Holy Spirit helping to identify
Any sin within the camp that may escape human eye
At times we have to do some sifting
Some tight relationships may have to end
When the Name of Christ we're lifting
He may become our only friend
As for me and my house, Joshua did say
We will serve the Lord and do things His way
Sometimes we purposely ignore the presence of sin
We look the other way so that we don't offend
But if we regard iniquity the Lord will not hear
So we must examine the camp if we want Him near
