My Impala 409

My Impala was a legend
And truly, oh so fine
For underneath her cloak of steel
Sat a dual-quad 409.

She took on many challengers
And made most to look slow
From Buick's black Grand National
To the mighty GTO.

There was the Ford Torino
The Pontiac 2 + 2
A Mercury GT Cyclone
And the Chevy Malibu.

But it was often difficult
Going up against Mopars
For the Magnums and the Hemis proved
to be the fastest cars.

Even so, she won most of the time
While admittedly losing some
But my Impala, oh so fine
A legend did become.
