The Fruit of Obedience

The Fruit of Obedience

Deuteronomy chapter 7 verses 11 through 15
One of many places the fruit of obedience is seen
Read if you will, plant the seed in your heart
There are many more examples but this is a good start
Keep His commandments and walk in His statutes
And He is faithful to keep His covenant with you
He will love you, bless you and multiply too
And His mercy that we need so desperately
Will fall heavy on you like ripe fruit from its tree
Health and increase, it's all right there
Your spouse and your children are under His care
If your marriage is suffering, obey the Lord
If your children are in sin, obey even more
The economy will fluctuate, jobs hold no security
Your feast or famine lies I within your purity
Noah is his obedience built an ark on dry land
And replenished the whole earth at Gods' command
Abraham, in his obedience offered up his on son
And became the father of many nations not just one
Moses, in his obedience stood before Pharaoh
Who soon found it better to let God's people go
Joshua, in his obedience marched around Jericho's wall
And didn't touch a single brick to make it fall
Many other examples in scripture prove it true
But just one more to bring it home to you
Jesus, in His obedience paid the ultimate price
The fruit of His obedience brought the dead to life
Obedience takes faith, this much is true
Faith moves God to work for you
So back to the problems you do or don't have
Obedience is a lesson you simply must grasp
Every point, every purpose, every single plan
Is centered around obeying the Lords command
Birthed in the heart, displayed out of love
Like falling on your knees without being shoved
But in gratefulness and humility, submission is free
I once was blind, but now I see
I once was lost, but no I'm found
And for that I lay my desires down
Now obedience springs from me
As bountiful fruit on a beautiful tree
